The Wave

…A Collection of Poems I wrote shortly after finding out Jacob suddenly died and I was left to navigating this new grief by myself in South Carolina, in a brand new living space…

I am coming up on one year of riding this wave and I felt it appropriate to get this part of me out into the world to keep moving forward (not forgetting, I remind myself) but forgiving myself for many things, forgiving Jacob, forgiving humans who hurt other humans, letting go of what was, the what ifs and could haves, to hold onto hope and faith that the best is truly yet to come even without knowing the answers to anything…finding flow, my best feels and walking back into the light of living my life as a different Jinelle finding joy first for me, then twice as hard for you (Jacob) (Sean) and the world to set the example, lead the way, that love and light can lead the way out of the darkness of discomfort, ache and pain, because I am still living it…As I like to say…I am a human…hurting, whole, happy and healing…all at once.

Let it all go, in order to grow
Start to make space for more moments of magic and uncovering of your place

What. Who. Lights you up up?
What brings you joy and empowers you to keep feeling like you

Is it truly you?
You just need to listen to within and you just do you.
Follow your best feels, believe it is doable and real.
Shine your light.
All your love within.
Learning to listen and lead yourself again.
Trust me, this time will be different, because I am different.
I’ve been bent, broken and molded into moments…magical & mean moments. that I’ll never get again.
Following the callings of my heart and soul, continuing to journey within.
I trust I am fully and faithfully supported.
Seeking outward does nothing but me and you a disservice.
Recognize you are safe, guided, connected and supported
The more you learn to let go, follow your intuition and let love lead.
The more you shine your light..bright, bold, brave and true.
And don’t forget courageously, with ease and full of unapologetic joy to just breathe and be- the authentic, unique- YOU.
You were truly destined to just BE.
First for me, then twice as hard for you.

You are the bonus- the want, not the need.
But i do feel better when I’m with you.
Help me heal, let go, and make space.
All while learning to give myself grace.
Find magic in ever moment.
Peace in every breath, for tomorrow is not promised.
I hold onto faith and continue to do my best.
I trust and believe, knowing, you are truly the bonus- the want, not the need.
I’m learning to live & love again.
But I am noticing I do feel better when you are with me and I am with you.

Holding onto hope and faith as I have and begin again.
Making more space. Forward focused, there’s no rush.
Right here and now, this is your time, trust you are exactly in the right place.
Leading with love, leaning all the way within.
Making more space, to be filled with beautiful abundance, it is my birth right, I need to take my place, leading from the front, learning how to shine my light bright, to love once again.
